This is Sweden's standard 5,56x45 ball today. It has a hard steel core in the tip of the projectile which gives the ball a very good penetration on hard targets. It will penetrate 3,4mm steel on 500 meters or a modern helmet on up to 800 meters.

This cartridge might not even of left the factory test area. It is equipped with what seems to be a MEN produced projectile from their environmental friendlier assortment. It is loaded though in a by Karlsborg ammunition fabriks produced case of 1996. This cartridge comes from the same factory.

This is a newly developed round, It is a environment friendly "green" ammunition. Every year the shooting fields are contaminated with led, and in this projectile the lead is switch to steel instead. The primer is also changed in it’s compounds so it is more environment-friendly. The only physical difference between a standard projectile and a "Green" model B cartridge is in the two lines 10 and 2 a clock in the head stamp. The late dated ammunition is all stamped CG what I know of.
